ABOUT

The Afro-Latino Festival NYC celebrates 10 years of honoring the contributions of Afrolatinos through networking, cultural exchange, artistic showcases, culinary presentations, and education. It serves as an important platform for organizations working within Afrolatino communities to raise social awareness and highlight their work. Our mission is to provide a positive public space to pay tribute to the African roots of people from Latin America and the Caribbean. We continue to commemorate the International Decade for People of African Descent declared by the U.N (2015-2024) and its principles of "justice", "recognition" and "development".

The Liberación Film Festival is the next phase of the cultural celebration we share with our community. Film, t.v. and Web 2.0 help shape visual culture and inform popular notions of belonging. We showcase a wide array of films starring or created by Afrolatinxs. If you are an artist, film buff, entrepreneur, academic, or community leaders we invite you to join us. The festival aims to highlight the work, values and issues important to the Afro-Latino community.
